Local businesses in San Francisco are struggling to hold on, as high rent, labor costs, and permit delays take their toll. In the past year, the underground music scene alone has seen the closure of well-known venues such as the all women-owned club, Mezzanine and the long-running Mission District club, Amnesia.

In the current scenery, there are still a few clubs such as Public Works, Midway, and Underground SF who are putting a lot of effort into providing musical culture to the city's ravers and clubbers with a local and international lineup that runs throughout the week. Among them worth mentioning is F8 1192 Folsom in the heart of SoMa, located a few doors down from the corner of Folsom and 8th.

For many years, F8 has been a hub for electronic music with parties like Housepitality, As You Like It, Stamina, Robot Ears, and has contributed their part to the scene by providing a space for eclectic sounds and a variety of genres from Electro, Techno, House, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and more.

However, that is now under threat of coming to an end. On February 11th, the club released a statement on their social media channels with a call for monetary help as it is now facing a potential closure due to unforeseen expenses and taxes .

Under a clear message of “Keep SF Music Scene Alive: Support F8 Nightclub", the club is raising money in a crowdfunding campaign with support from the local community and public donations.
